1)      Download the .msi 

a.       Login to webroot console 

b.      Click on the username in the upper right 

c.       Choose downloads 

d.      There are several options, near the bottom is “install using msi” 

e.      Save the file locally and keep in mind it will be moving to the server 

  

  note: install 7-zip to extract orca from the sdk .msi 

2)      Edit msi to insert the keycode 

a.       Need an app to edit the .msi 

b.      Download orca from: http://www.klaus-hartnegg.de/gpo/orca.html 

c.       After install, right click on the .msi and choose edit with orca 

d.      Scroll down to property on left hand side, on the right look for GUILIC and set that 

Value to the keycode. Save 

  

3)      Create the network share 

a.       Create a folder on the server to share  

b.      Right click on the folder. Go into properties/sharing/advanced – select share this folder 

c.       Set permissions: Read access for Domain users and Authenticated Users and full to system 

d.      Copy the edited .msi file into the new share

4)      Creating and assigning your GPO and assign endpoints 

a.       Open the Group policy management console 

b.      Navigate forest/domains/local/right click on group policy objects 

c.       Select new and call it webroot secure anywhere 

d.      Select it, right click on it and select edit 

e.      Under computer configuration, select policies / software settings and software 

Installation. 

f.        Right click software installation / select properties 

g.       In the default package location, enter the UNC path to the network share with the .msi 

h.      Under new packages, select assign Installation / user interface / options select basic 

i.         Apply and ok 

j.        Right click on software installation, select new and package  

        Browse to the location of the webroot.msi file 

l.       Select the .msi and open – GPO should be ready 

  

5)      Assign new GPO to endpoints 

a.       Right click on OU of computers for installation 

b.      Select link an existing GPO 

c.       Select webroot secure anywhere GPO 

  

When the workstation restarts, it will silently install in the background
